Message	"modifying the bracket that stretches from the core support to the latch by drilling out the holes if it looks like it is pushing up on it" huh? that doesnt make any sense. why would you do all this instead of correcting the underlying issue? if you have a bent rad support you should fix that, not mess with your latch. you will create a nightmare trying to get the hood/lights/center panel to line up right if you start going at it like that. "I would also recommend using a scissor jack and some blocks of wood instead of a mallet." scissor jack against what? there is nothing nearly strong enough for this purpose up there. do NOT use a scissor jack, because you absolutely will bend everything else.
